Three cousins made their families proud after successfully graduating from Technical College of Fiji (TCF) at Vanua Levu Arya Campus in Labasa last Friday.

Fatali Tefana, 23, acquired National Certificate Level Two in Auto-Electrical and Engineering.

Misaele Malaki, 18, received a National Certificate Level Two in Carpentry and Martin Rasau, 21, got a National Certificate Level Two in Cookery.

Ms Tefana and Mr Rasau are siblings and their mother is Mr Malaki’s father’s sister originally from Kioa Island.

Ms Tefana, who is now working as a messenger and clerk at Judicial Department in Savusavu said they stayed at Tuatua, Labasa together to complete their education.

“Student life at TCF had been full of excitement and challenges for three of us,” Ms Tefana said.

“We pursued different courses and had practical in different places to gain experience.

“It was something that we could sit down once a week and talk about while watching a movie or sitting in a bus when going home.”

Mr Malaki said it was worthwhile studying at TCF and he has planned to further his education in the same college.

“I love carpentry and will further develop my skills because I want to become the best carpenter in Fiji and make my family proud,” he said.

Mr Rasau said he wanted to be a best chef in Fiji and make his people back on the island proud as well.

“I am searching for a job and I hope I get into a best resort to gain more skills and develop my communication skills so that I can take something back to my island.”

The trio said student life was the best they could experience and they would never forget the good and bad moments they shared together.
