Lunch Box, a locally owned food outlet, opened its fourth yesterday, this one in Namaka, Nadi.

Managing Director Vinesh Dayal said the Namaka outlet was a 100 seater facility.

“This outlet has a more diverse menu. Lunch Box is a local brand name and is the first international standard food chain designed and developed by a local,” Mr Dayal said.

“This is the first outlet in the West and we hope to open an outlet in Lautoka opposite Lautoka City Mall on 30th September.”

He said the Lunch Box brand was first established in Labasa for the children so that they could have fried chicken, fries and Pizza.

Mr Dayal said: “This is not a franchise and the advantage of this local product is that I am able to customise the products to suit the market.

“Namaka required a more diverse menu which will include grills like chicken, salads, pasta, authentic Indian curries. So this becomes our flagship store.”

He said there were many reasons why people needed to visit Lunch Box.

“It is not only our chicken or the burgers. Five family members can come and order five different menus here.”

Since the soft opening yesterday, the feedback has been overwhelming, said Mr Dayal.

Future Plans

He said there were plans of expansion in Suva and another at Port Denarau in Nadi

He said Vanuatu and Solomon Islands have also shown interest in opening an outlet.

“Given the upgrades, the standards that we are improving branch after branch, we will definitely be in the position in the next 12 to 18 months to beat the spots at international airports and take this local brand to the same standard as the international franchises.”

Here is what you need to know about Lunch Box:

  •  Uses 100% local vegetables and meat for creating menus.
  •  Opening Hours: Monday- Saturday- 8am-9pm
  •  Sunday- 9am-9pm
  •  The Namaka outlet employs 23 staff members.

The Namaka branch was opened yesterday by Uttra Dayal, Mr Dayal’s mother.
