Wellington Hurricanes scouts are in the country and would be recruiting young players for the new season.

Hurricanes General Manager High Performance Chris Stirling and Recruitment and Development officer Darren Larsen are currently in the capital and watched the Coke Zero Deans semi-final last Saturday. They will also be at the ANZ Stadium on Saturday to look out for talented players.

Stirling confirmed they have scouted few potential players already following the semi-final match last week and will be looking out for more.

“It is very amazing to see how these high school students are able to deliver, such great young talents in rugby as they are very hype and competitive in nature.

“Previously, I had watched the semi-final matches last week it was excellent and it was great to see the support schools that were present to support their schools,” Stirling said.

The duo was in Ratu Kadavulevu School yesterday and Stirling believes the team from Delainakaikai have good set of players who would deliver positively on game day.

“I believe RKS teams have a good set of players representing the school this year as all of teams have qualified to the national finals this year which is a massive achievement for the school.

“I am looking forward to watching the national finals this Saturday and hope more young talents could be identified during the match,” he added.
