It was an overwhelming moment for Ratu Kadavulevu School’s Under-15 winger Ratu Waisea Maka after he scored three tries in the Coke Deans final against Queen Victoria School.

Delainakaikai boys encountered a close 18-17 victory at the ANZ Stadium, yesterday.

The 15- year old who hails from Wainimala, Naitasiri was awarded the best player and pocketed $100 and free return ticket to either Australia or New Zealand.

“I would like to thank God for giving me the talent to be able to give my best performance in the final,” Maka said.

“I would like to dedicate my achievement to my parents who had been my greatest source of strength and support throughout this season.

“I wasn’t really expecting to be awarded the best player award but I am really grateful.

“Before scoring the three tries I was confident we would win the U15 title.

“I am hoping to be a Flying Fijian and make my country proud in future.”
