Ratu Kadavulevu School won the Under-14 title after defeating Queen Victoria School 9-7 in the Coke Zero Deans final at the ANZ Stadium, yesterday.

The Delainakaikai boys were overwhelmed winning the grade title after 24 years.

Coach Timoci Satakala was emotional after the win and thanked the boys for the effort.

“I am really happy with the win and I really can’t express how much this win means to us,” Satakala said.

“It was guts and determination which steered us to win.

“We respected QVS as they were the defending champions but we are glad that by the end of the day we came out on top.

“It took us 24 years to win the U14 title again and it feels amazing.

“I would like to thank the principal, support staff, and the old boys for providing the jerseys and not forgetting the parents.”

QVS coach Solomone Murikanaka said despite not being able to defend their title, he is happy with the performance.

“I would like to thank the boys for the hard work despite not defending the title,” Murikanaka said.

“The boys gave their best but they fell short and we will be back next year.”

The Lodoni boys won $1200 and the best player was awarded to RKS halfback Vilimoni Taqiri.
