What happened; Ratu Kadavulevu School won  the Coke Zero Deans U18 title after defeating Queen Victoria School 20-5 at the ANZ Stadium yesterday.

The Delainakaikai ruggers scored three tries and a penalty to outclass the defending champions and returned to Lodoni  $5000 richer.

RKS had a strong start as they broke through the QVS defence line to establish their first points through a penalty to fullback Saint George Sisi Talei. Lodoni continue to fight and scored their first try through flanker Josese Batirerega.

The champions continue to pressure the QVS defence line. RKS led by captain Taniela Yabakidrau applied the pressure and was awarded a penalty try.

The boys from Delainakaikai continue to build the momentum which saw Mesulame Domonakibau diving for their third try. QVS regrouped and scored their lone try through prop Livai Natave.

Big Play: RKS kept to their game structure and were determined and organised from the start.

Star Turn: RKS No. 8 Anuilagi Mirialolo deserved a man of the match performance.

RKS assistant principal Walesi Soqoiwasa;

“The boys played well and the school will host a feast for all the grades in the second week of term three.  We will prepare one pig for one grade, this feast was planned before we came and played in the final.”

QVS principal Seru Banuve;

“We want to thank the boys for the great effort. RKS came out strong and they were the best team in the end.”
