Former Police spokeswoman Ema Mua appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court yesterday charged with one count of assault.

Mua, 44, is alleged to have punched another woman on her, right top eyebrow and pushed her resulting in the woman receiving injuries.

The two women got into an argument after Mua approached and questioned her about stories she had been spreading.

The alleged incident happened on August 9 this year.

Disclosures were served to the accused in Court and she said that she will be engaging a private lawyer to represent her.

Police Prosecutor Corporal Luke Qerewaqa did not object to bail.

Mua was released on $1000 bail with one surety.

Her case has been adjourned to September 27 for mention.
