Defending champions Army Green play Navy in the semifinal of the Escott Shield at the ANZ Stadium in Suva this Saturday.

This was after Army beat Regent Breakthrough 16-6 while Navy beat Lomaiviti Green 24-0.

In the other quarterfinals QVSOB edged Covenant Brothers 21-20 and Police Blue thrashed Marist 43-3.

Army Green coach Usa Mataki applauded the performance despite the wet conditions.

“Despite the condition the boys put up a good show,” Mataki said.

“Regent Breakthrough gave us a tough match and we need to lift our performance in the semifinal against Navy.

“As defending champions we want to retain our title this year.”

QVSOB play Police Blue in the second semifinal.

Escott Shield; Covenant Brothers 20-21 QVSOB; Police Blue 43-3 Marist; Navy 24-0 Lomaiviti Green; Army Green 16-6 Regent Breakthrough

 

Koroturaga; USP 24-15 Nabua White; Covenant Red (WBD)-Concrete Solution Qauia Green; Harlequins 42-0 West Coast Grammar.
