A Juice Bar located beside Inner Tech Electrical on the main street of Labasa Town offers sugarcane juice.

Owner Raj Autar said he was excited to open something new for the people of the Babasiga town which he believes is unique.

“The speciality about the sugarcane juice is that there is no added artificial flavour, no sugar and water,” Mr Autar said.

“I use natural flavours such as fruits that are in season,” said the 38-year-old father of a one.

“For instance, right now I am using mangoes.

“I buy sugarcane from farmers in Labasa.

“There are varieties of sugarcane such as Nandiri, Mali and Ragana that I can use to make juice.

“Each variety of sugarcane stock produces different taste that is added with the fruity flavour.”

A big glass of juice is $1 and $2 to $3 for a bottle.

Mr Autar also runs a second-hand clothing business and is soon to open night club.

He is a DJ by profession having worked in Sydney previously.

“I want to bring something new that the Fijians are really looking forward to such as modern music,” he said.

Mr Autar operates multiple businesses along with his wife Kritika Autar.

“I chose to invest in Labasa because this is my home town,” he said.
