The $2.5 million refurbishment at the McDonald’s establishment at Martintar, Nadi, is expected to be completed by December 1.

The work on the new project commenced on August 28 to create another state-of-the-art McDonald’s restaurant.

Once officially opened for business, customers can expect a new dual lane drive-thru, McCafe, new restaurant interior and exteriors with the latest graphic and designs that are found in new McDonald’s restaurants in Australia and New Zealand.

McDonald’s Fiji Group managing director Marc McElrath said: “This is our ongoing commitment to re-invest in Fiji.

“McDonald’s is committed in expanding, growing the brand and creating more employment.

“We are also working with local contractors and suppliers to build the successful business partnerships in Fiji with McDonald’s Fiji that is fully Fijian owned.

“The $2.5m refurbishment has started and should be completed by December 1.

“Local contractor Macmark Limited was selected through a tender process with a number of contractors to carry out the works on the project.”

Mr McElrath added once this project is completed it will boost more staffing to 300 nationwide.

“With the current increase in the site per seating, we will definitely have increasing staffing numbers from 45 to 65 staff employed for the Nadi restaurant only,” he said.

The restaurant is currently only serving drive-thru since Monday.

This service will be available until the refurbishment period is completed.
