Nine queen contestants will be vying in this year’s Sugar Festival which starts on September 16th and ends on Saturday September 23rd.

This was confirmed by Sugar Festival senior vice president and programme director Pushp Raj.

The theme for this year’s festival is ‘Our Earth, Our Responsibility, Our Future’ aimed at increasing awareness on climate change issues.

“We also urge people to learn about climate change issues which we will portray from the stage,” he added. He said this year’s festival will be an event which will benefit everyone.

“I urge people of Lautoka to come down and make the most from the competitive and low prices from the different stalls,” Mr Raj said.

He said that all stall spaces had been sold out.

“We will have 28 food stalls, 90 flea market stalls and about 10 open spaces that we have provided for companies,” he added.

“We also have a wide range of rides for children and adults to have fun,” Mr Raj said

“We also urge people not to litter the ground during the festival, and do the right thing by placing all litter in the bins provided at the venue.”
