The Nadi Police Station is now more equipped with ensuring technological assistance is provided in the town.

This after they were given 17 new desktop computers, a printer and laptops by the Fiji Police Force.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Itendra Nair said it was a well-deserved donation to the officers.

“We are here to distribute computers and other technological equipment to our officers which they deserve,” he said.

He said the Police force was developing to enhance their organisation to become more professional, increasing efficiency and effectiveness in terms of the compilation of reports.

“We are developing as well in our organisation and we are trying to automate our organization therein comes this equipment and tools, which is the desktop computers, printers and laptops, etcetera, so we can make our output more professional and increase our efficiency and effectiveness,” ACP Nair said.

“The community will have a much more professional service in terms of when cases are presented in court, officers are able to present the reports in hard copy.”

ACP Nair cautioned the officers not to abuse the equipment but to use it to the best of their knowledge.

“The officers have been asked to use the equipment wisely as they may be subject to abuse, and to please ensure to use it to the best of our knowledge,” he said.

Nadi Station officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police Simione Bale said they would have a much improved service to the community and also the Nadi police force as a whole.

“This will improve our service to the community, and also administration, through proper documentation of all the reports and courts as well, and make use of the equipment appropriately to come away from the forefront in terms of visibility, which is something that we should be mindful of,” ASP Bale said.
