The Nailaga Football Club will be the team to look out for in the Vodafone National Club Championship 2017 zonal playoffs.

This was after the Ba-based club beat Rangers 1-0 at Prince Charles Park, Nadi yesterday.

Their goal came from the boot of Joeli Ranitu in the 59th minute.

Ranitu took the ball from a Rangers defender on a one-to-one situation and slotted in the winning goal.

Coach Ali said it was a tough game and the boys played well considering that the surface was a bit hard.

“We had a number of chances which we missed but we still have to work on our finishing,” he said.

Ali added despite not having their key striker Saula Waqa due to suspension, they are looking forward to today’s game.

Rangers coach Jay Krishna said it’s was a fair game but they failed to keep their composure.

“We still lack fitness,” he added.

Krishna is optimistic his players will bounce back today as they aim to qualify to the next round of competition.

“We still have a chance of qualifying but we will have to win today. We will make some positional changes but I know we can proceed to the next stage,” he said.
