Football clubs Bureta, Raymonds, Civic and Navuso Barbarians have qualified from the Southern Division for the Vodafone National Club Championship (NCC) finals which start on Friday at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.

They are joined by Western qualifiers of Blues FC, Nailaga FC, Greenstar FC and Service SC

Navuso Barbarians FC from Tailevu/Naitasiri are the surprised qualifiers. They’ve qualified with Raymonds FC from Rewa as the best runners-up out of the three pools.

Fiji Football Association competitions manager Amitesh Pal said the NCC is set to be a thriller.

“The four Southern clubs played well and have worked hard to qualify. Navuso Barbarians FC surprised everyone by qualifying for the finals,” Pal said.

“We’re expecting a tough competition in the finals as all teams are equally prepared.”

Meanwhile, a new winner will be crowned in the NCC on Sunday after defending champions Press FC from Lautoka failed to qualify this year.
