Special Olympic Fiji hosted their first Shriver Camp at the Black Rock Army Camp in Nadi yesterday.

This is to prepare the athletes for the 2019 Special World Games in Abu Dhabi.

The 44-member team were hosted by the Republic of Fiji Military Forces in the three-day event.

Coordinator Deepak Singh said, “The aim was to provide a unified sports experience for young people to learn new sports skills, improve physical fitness, develop lasting positive friendships.”

The theme is ‘Challenging our Abilities.”

“This is our first camp as build up to the 2019 World Games.

“Some of the athletes hardly leave their homes and this is a new experience,” Singh added.

“We are thankful to the RFMF for their on-going partnership.”
