Do you like Thai food well you are in luck.

Yum Yum Taste of Thai Bistro that has opened for the first time for business at Kundan Village, Tamavua yesterday.

Approximately $150,000 invested into the Thai specialised bistro.

This is a family run business which mainly focuses on Thai and Ceylon menus.

Bistro owner PL Munasinghe said: “It’s a specialty Thai restaurant; we have got an expert Thai chef who is going to do the Thai menu.

“We are also doing a select section on Ceylon recipes which will be South East Asia flavors.”

Mr Munasinghe said he chose to invest in this business because he noticed there was no such food outlet in the area.

“I think there was a real necessity for Tamavua area to have more food choices.

“The prime motive was to offer Suva residents’ food from other parts of the world. I wanted to bring in diversity of culinary experiences.”

The bistro will create new employment for seven people which includes the Thai expert chef.

They will be using organic fresh farm produce.

“It’s a bistro; more takeaway than anything else, it’s quick.

“We have 24 seats for the people who wish to enjoy their meal at the restaurant,” he said.

He noted the Thai and Ceylon menu will change every day. It will include three different dishes on a daily basis.

The outlet also offers local food on their menu as “Viti favourites” to cater for those who love Fijian flavors.

Thai flavours are brought in from Thailand while the Ceylon flavours are bought locally.

However, they will use different batters, marination and flavors to give it a unique taste.

“We want to be very distinctive in our flavors. We want to give customers a good experience with their value of money; good food at a great price,” he added.

The outlet will open from 11am to 8pm daily.
