Football Mourns Loss Of Mocelutu

Fiji Football Association is saddened to learn of the death of former national and Ba rep Kini Mocelutu.

He died yesterday and will be buried tomorrow at 10am in Ba

Fiji Football Association chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf said Kini will be missed by the football family in Fiji and abroad.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family who will have to go through this difficult phase,” Yusuf said.

“We have lost a great man. One who had football in his heart. He immensely contributed towards the development of football in Fiji and leaves behind a legacy which many of us would only dream of fulfilling.”

“Kini has left a long lasting legacy. He was a true son of Fiji Football and was an inspirational to many in Fiji and abroad.

“On behalf Fiji FA board members and football family I wish to extend our deepest condolences to his family,” he said.

“He was a quiet, discipline, hardworking and completely honest in his commitment to the game.

“He was one of the finest strikers in the late 60s and 70s.”

Yusuf said the Serua native was always adored by football fans.”
