Pita Qiolevu thanked the Lord and his parents yesterday for walking away with five subject prizes in the Year 11 Class at the Suva Sangam Prize-giving ceremony at the school.

“Firstly I want to thank the Lord Almighty because without Him I would never achieve any of this and I also want to thank my hard working parents who have been the back bone for everything,” the 16-year-old Vanua Levu lad said.

“They have been working long hours so they could provide for me.

“This is the best feeling ever.”

Pita also took out the highest scorer in the Fiji Year 10 Examinations for last year attaining 532 out of 600 in last year’s Year 10 Final Examination.

He won the Year 11 syndicate award for Technical Drawing, Physics, English, Mathematics and Chemistry and he also won the year 11 syndicate award with an average score of 90.6 per cent.

Pita said these awards were a first for him throughout his primary and secondary school education.

He feels that joining Suva Sangam College has been a great blessing in his life.

Pita’s dream is to pursue his career either as a pilot, an architect or a businessman after finishing his secondary school studies.

His mother, Tokasa Qiolevu was very emotional yesterday as she saw her son receive various awards and trophies.

She thanked the Lord for her son’s achievements.
