Naitasiri terrier all set for tonight’s rumble

Undefeated super welterweight sensation Siliveni Nawai is confident of a 10th round knockout win over Jese Ravudi in tonight’s main bout at Prince Charles Park, Nadi.

Nawai tipped the scale at 70 kilogrammes during the Canada Fiji Southern Boxing Promotion’s official weigh-in yesterday.

He is dubbed the ‘Hands of Stone” after impressive knockout wins over Nereo Cakautini, Pita Tabuarua and Wahid Khan.

“I will go to the highway looking to go the full rounds but I will knock him out in the 10th,” the Tubenasolo, Nawaka, Nadi native said.

“My aim is to be the next golden boy, I’ve been unbeaten and I want my career to go to the next level. I’m ready and have prepared well for this fight.”

Nawai is grateful to his family from the Tikina o Nawaka and his sponsors Mana Flyer for their continuous support.

“Also my appreciation goes to the Mulomulo Boxing Club for being there for me.”

Ravudi is the son of former Fiji light heavyweight champion Joe ‘Hitman’ Ravudi.

The 25-year-old tipped the scale at 70.2 kg and indicated that he has prepared physically, mentally and spiritually for the fight.

“I had few issues but there is no need to explain because I have already signed.

“I’m 100 percent for a win tomorrow.  I know Siliveni is tough, now he is losing weight.

“I’m not scared of him, he is nothing. I have seven pro fights overseas where I lost two.

“I’m not worried about these Fijian fighters.”

Ravudi called on fans to come out in numbers and watch the fight since it will be a thriller.

The Naitasiri terrier has won six out his nine fights (including 2 KO wins), two losses and a draw.
