Smart Efficient Security Services Suva proved too strong for crowd favourites Flick Tavua with a convincing 3-1 win in the Courts Interdistrict Championship yesterday..

Nippy Shahil Dave scored a brace of goals as the capital side displayed smart football under the western heat.

Tavua held the capital city scoreless until the 34th minute when Dave turned the match to their advantage with his first goal.

What happened: After 20 minutes, Suva striker Ravinesh Karan Singh rifled home a powerful drive two minutes later giving Tavua goalkeeper Jovilisi Borisi no chance.

With the 1-0 lead, Suva were stunned when Waisea Duwai scored. Both teams went to the break locked at 1-1.
But Dave made the difference scoring two goals in quick successions.
Speaking to SUNsports, Dave said the goals were dedicated to his dad and former top football referee Bob Dave.
“The win is for our family members and also for Suva football fans around the country.”

Comments: Tavua technical advisor Anand Sami said despie a goal a goal behind the boys worked really hard and fought back.

“It was a technical error that proved costly for us. But I am very happy with the performance of the boys in tournament.”

“We drew the first two games and we were unlucky in the third game. I’m willing to help Tavua in future.”

Suva’s technical advisor Aghinesh Prasad said; “We came out strongly against Nadi and Tavua. We knew Tavua would come in for a win because a win would have taken them to the semi-finals.

“We just wanted to play smart, keep possession and  frustrate Tavua. We knew we would score more goals after Tavua equalised and we kept attacking their goal mouth.
