Remueru Tekiate will not play in the semifinal of the Courts Interdistrict Championship tomorrow.

And it’s likely the tough Ba defender will miss out again if the ‘Men In Black’ qualify for the final on Sunday.

This was after Tekiate was red carded in their 2-2 draw against Dreketi. Tekiate was sent off following a crude tackle on a Dreketi player.

The severity of the offence will depend on referee Veer Singh’s report to the Fiji Football Association’s disciplinary committee.

Dreketi stunned the crowd when they drew first blood through Taniela Rakariva in the 11th minute.

Ba scored the equaliser through Patrick Sarwan before Malakai Rakula extended the lead in the 39th minute.

Halftime: Ba 2-1 Dreketi

Vikrath Chandra equalised for  Dreketi in the last quarter.

Fulltime: Ba 2-2 Dreketi

Comments: Dreketi’s technical advisor Ronil Lal said: “The boys played their hearts out and performed well. We need to step-up and maintain our performance. The future looks bright for Dreketi.”

Ba Football manager Arvind Singh said; “We’re looking forward to the semifinal and the boys are ready. We have to work hard as it will not be easy. We have capable players who can replace Tekiate.”
