A significant drop in the crime rate was recorded in the province of Namosi from January to September this year. This is in comparison to the same period last year.

Namosi Provincial Administrator (PA) Laisenia Tuni said last year they had recorded 72 cases and this year they have recorded 32.

Mr Tuni said this was the result of the recent crime prevention workshops held in villages.

The chairman of the Namosi Provincial Council Ratu Romano Matanitobua said the drop in the crime rate was a credit to the leadership from village heads.
