Fiji Airways’ domestic subsidiary Fiji Link is supporting Movember, the international movement for prostate cancer and men’s health awareness, by installing moustaches on its ATR aircraft.

For the entire month of November, Fiji Link’s ATR fleet of ATR 42 and ATR 72 will be sporting dapper looks with moustache decals on the front of the aircraft, with the aim of spreading awareness and creating dialogue around the importance of early detection and prevention of the illness.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer affecting men in Fiji, with the risk increasing with age.

As well as the aircraft makeover, Fiji Link, along with parent company Fiji Airways, will be holding various internal activities to raise funds and awareness for the campaign.

Fiji Link General manager Athil Narayan said: “We’re all very excited to have our ATR fleet don moustaches for this very worthy cause.

“We had a very successful Pinktober campaign, and we’re pleased to get involved with raising awareness for Movember.

“As a man, I think the mindset of invincibility and therefore the lack of dialogue when it comes to cancer and other illnesses is still very much dominant in Fiji.

“We need to realise the importance of early detection and lifestyle choices and start having frank and open discussions about our health.”

Fiji Link’s ATR fleet services various domestic routes and also flies regionally for Fiji Airways.
