A woman has been remanded in custody by the Nasinu Magistrates Court with an added charge of obstruction after allegedly tearing up a drugs search warrant when it was presented by Police officers.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed yesterday that the woman was one of the four suspects arrested during two drugs raids.

Ms Naisoro said she was produced in court on Friday and was remanded in custody.

“The first suspect he will be charged later today (Saturday) and might appear on Monday,” she said.

Chief Operations Officer, Assistant Commissioner of Police RusiateTudravu said a raid was conducted at the home of a 33-year-old self-employed man in Nakasi on Thursday night.

Police seized white crystals believed to be methamphetamine including apparatus allegedly used for manufacturing drugs.

The second raid was conducted at a billiard shop in Nausori where the Police officers found a white plastic bag containing sachets of dried leaves hidden under a drain pipe.
