The 30 Fijian soldiers who are part of a multi-national coalition in New Zealand’s biggest military exercise are coping well.

Captain Eroni Duaibe, the Republic of Fiji Military Forces chief staff officer coordinator confirmed this yesterday.

The coalition of 2500 troops include soldiers from Tonga, Papua New Guinea and Fiji.

‘Exercise Southern Katipo’ is the New Zealand Defence Force’s biggest military exercise and is held every two years.

Meanwhile, the  New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) has said in a report that the Royal Australian Air Force’s 35 Squadron has deployed a C-27J Spartan to participate in a major international exercise for the first time since the battlefield airlifter was brought into service.

The aircraft was deployed to New Zealand in early November to provide an air mobility capability for Exercise Southern Katipo 2017. Exercise Southern Katipo 2017 runs until mid-November.
