The Fiji Police Force is appealing for families to be more accepting towards mothers and also to be more responsible when dealing with other people.

This comes after the body of a baby was found at Veiuto in Nasese, Suva, yesterday morning.

The body which was confirmed to be a boy, was found by workers of the Suva City Council while collecting rubbish.

Chief Operations Officer ACP Rusiate Tudravu said the incident shed light on the need for people to be more considerate and understanding of the different circumstances that may arise involving mothers.

He said members of the family played a huge role in the care of a human being adding that there were many avenues which could be followed to rectify such issues.

Police have identified the mother of the baby who was questioned by Police at the Totogo Police Station.

Investigations continue.
