Sigatoka Hospital has received a timely financial boost to undertake the much needed refurbishment works and upgrade the operating theatres to a state of the art facility.

This was made possible through the donation of $70,193.63 provided by Coral Coast Hoteliers to the Ministry of Health and Medical Services.

The funds were raised through the Charity Golf Tournament held by the Coral Coast Hoteliers at Natadola, last Sunday.

The cheque was presented to the Minister for Health and Medical Services, Rosy Akbar at the Sigatoka Hospital.

The event coincided with the Board of Visitors (BOV) Meeting for the western division which was also chaired by Ms Akbar.

While presenting the cheque, Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort manager Russell Blaik said that Coral Coast Hoteliers are proud to make this significant contribution towards the development of Sigatoka Hospital.

He also emphasised on the need for a collaborative support by various sectors to support the health ministry in its endeavours to enhance the health services in Fiji.
