It may have just been Jeshua Hope’s first year at International School Suva but his exemplary conduct and behaviour proved that he was already a leader.

That’s what happened on Wednesday night when he was called to become one of six student heads who will lead the school come 2018.

“This is my first year at ISS and when I heard about the school system and rules I was excited,” Jeshua said.

“I wanted to be one of the heads and I am relieved because we have been waiting for four weeks for this.

“It will take some time to adapt to the new role but I am ready to face everything thrown my way,” the 18-year-old said.

Lomanikoro, Bua, lass Hannah Keteca was emotional when she was announced to be one of the leaders for the school next year.

On her mind was her mother who single-handedly raised her and her grandfather who has been her role model.

“It is an honour to be one of the heads and I am ready for whatever challenge will be thrown my way next year. I am grateful to the teachers for believing in me for this role,” the 17-year old said.

“I am thankful to my mother who has always been supportive and believing in me, my grandfather who has been my role model. I will fulfil my calling to lead and set a good example.”

The six heads will all be year 12 students next year.
