A man who used to be a drug user, but changed his life around when he found God is one of the 12 Apostles Fellowship International Christian workers ordained yesterday.

Reemal Shankar, 25, said: “But through the miracle of God, it was easy leaving all those bad habits, and there are many  changes God has done in my life.

“Now I know the reason why God brought me into this world is to spread his gospel to people who don’t know him well.”

Mr Shankar and his wife were ordained at a ceremony during a church service at Gospel High School.

Wife Sheetal Shankar, 31, said: “We both converted to Christianity and I thank God for giving me a good husband who shares God in my life.

“It’s a good experience and we enjoy the moments of sharing the gospel to people.”

Through the power of the Holy Spirit, they said, they have been blessed with the gifts of healing prayer, and vision.

“Most of the time we pray over sick people in Nadi, and many have visited us and were healed,” Mrs Shankar said

Their advice to those who are facing problems, stress and sickness is to put everything in God’s hands.

Pastors ordained

Three pastors for the church were also ordained yesterday.

Pastor Sefanaia Bulabalavu, who is a Fiji Corrections Service officer, is ready to take up the role. After the ordination he was given a licence to preach.

“Life will come to an end. There is another life that we are all looking forward to, which is eternal life,” Pastor Bulabalavu said.

“Being a pastor is God’s calling in my life. I’m ready to take this responsibility and feed my congregation with the word of God.

“It’s not easy, but God is leading me every day. This enables me to have a good time with work and my family.

“I have a loving wife, Amelia, who is always by my side, she supports me in my work and in all church functions.”

The couple look after the Praise and Worship Ministry in Suva.
