The All Nations Christian Fellowship (ANCF) youths had their annual sports day at the Suva Grammar School (SGS) grounds in Veiuto, Suva, yesterday.

The day’s event concludes the three- day International Youth Conference where they focussed on networking and fellowshipping with other members from around the country and overseas.

ANCF pastor Usaia Donu said the day was for empowering their youths in living a life for the glory of God and his Kingdom.

“We want our youths to get to know each other, integrate and associate during our three- day conference, so we have teams from our respective divisions and circuits being represented here,” Donu said.

The ANCF youths were part of the Covenant Brothers rugby team that played in 7s tournaments around the country and also at the Suva Rugby Union club competition where the Escott Shield is at stake. This was where former national rugby sevens captain and Olympian Osea Kolinisau, Ben Kakaivalu and Fijian Under-20 captain Temo Mayanavanua were groomed.

Donu said they organised volleyball, netball and rugby 7s matches for the youths.

Teams from the North, West, Central 1, Central 2 and the English Service divisions featured in the competitions.

“Volleyball is merely for friendly purposes whereas anybody can form a team, while rugby and netball are the ones where the winners will get prizes.

“But again our main emphasis in not on the prize money but more so on the fact that they can just congregate, empower and network with one another, all for the extension of the works for the Kingdom of God.”
