Iliesa Naitini was delighted after his wife, Elenoa, gave birth to a healthy baby boy on New Year’s Day at the Colonial War Hospital.

They were not expecting to hold, hug and kiss their bundle of joy because Mrs Naitini’s due date was January 14.

“When I started to have labor my husband brought me to the hospital and at 1:56am our son was born.

“I was really excited to have a son and now we will be telling our three daughters that they have a brother.”

Mr Naitini said they knew in advance the gender of their baby.

“My wife was told that we were having a baby boy while she was going for medical examinations,” Mr Naitini said.

“I was really excited to finally hold our son and tell my daughters the good news.”

Mrs Naitini gave birth to the healthy baby boy weighing 3.8kilograms.

They have yet to decide on a name for their new arrival.
