Promising welterweight boxer Krishna Mudaliar will face Aisea Naciqa in the Westwood Boxing Promotions at the Novotel Suva Lami Bay Convention Centre in Lami on February 2.

This was confirmed by promoter Praneel Dass in Nadi yesterday.

This will be the first boxing programme for 2018.

Mudaliar had fought 10 times, won five (3KO), drew one and lost four.

He is looking forward to his sixth win since making his debut in 2010.

“I am looking forward to this fight and thankful to the promoter for getting me on board,” he said.

The 26-year old is a member of the Suva Boxing and Fitness Club.

“I started preparation six months ago and looking forward to the fight at a new venue,”Mudaliar said.

He is training under the guidance of heavyweight Napoleon Taumoepeau and Joseph Kwadjo.

“This is part of the explosive programme lined up by Westwood Promotions,”Dass said.

“I am really interested in the Mudaliar brothers, Krishna, Krishneel and Sachin. All showed good sportsmanship and this is an opportunity for them to fight in a programme.

“Krishna has a lot of potential and a long way to go.”

Meanwhile, World Boxing Federation (WBF) Asia Pacific super lightweight boxing champion, Sebastian ‘Sniper’ Singh will defend his title against an Australian or Thailand opponent in the feature programme of the evening.

“I’ve sorted out matchmaking for the entire bouts and will forward it to the Boxing Commission of Fiji for approval of the overall programme,” he said.
