The Vatuwaqa and Stinson Parade bridges will open to traffic on January 10 and January 11 respectively.

This was confirmed by Fiji Roads Authority chief executive officer Jonathan Moore.

“This is part of the Suva Arterial Road Upgrade Project (SARUP 1) that the contract is set up to improve the main arterial roads. We are reconstructing and upgrading the road,” Mr Moore said.

“This is a fully-programmed capital project. Our contractor for SARUP 1 is the China Railway Fifth Group.

“Once the project is completed, it will have an improved capacity, which will allow a balanced traffic-flow particularly during peak hours.”
