Use smart phones to take video and send it to Police so they can fast track them: Qiliho

Police Commissioner Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho wants to crack down on drivers who race on our roads.

He has appealed to the public to inform the nearest Police Station about motorists allegedly doing it.

Northern FijiFirst Party co-ordinator Anil Prasad raised the issue with him during his tour to the North with Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.

Mr Prasad said he had received letters of concern from residents of Nagigi outside Labasa, who were tired of some young drivers using Nagigi stretch for car racing during the night.

Mr Prasad said this had been ongoing from last year.

Brigadier-General Qiliho advised that people should immediately inform Police and Land Transport Authority so that they could take action.

“I would like to suggest if people can use their smart phones to take video and send it to Police so they can fast track them,” Brigadier-General Qiliho said.
