Police Blue demolished Calia One 33-10, to win the 2018 Congo Waimanu Rugby 7s tournament at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori, yesterday.

Police walked away with $5000 while runners-up Calia One walked won $1000, third placed Tabadamu won $600 and fourth placed Police White pocketed $400.

Plate winner Tokatoka Resort Westfield won $500, while runners-up Congo Waimanu Green walked away with $300.

Congo Waimanu Rugby Club advisor Waisake Bose said talents displayed during the tough two-day competition indicated a positive growth in the game of sevens rugby in the country.

“This competition not only benefitted us with our strive to revive and revitalise our club and getting a new gym, but it also allows other teams to gauge themselves against other top teams in the country,” Bose said.
