It’s Business For Fijian Fashion Festival

The Fashion Council of Fiji has signed up Damodar Cinemas for the Fijian Fashion Festival.

The Fashion Festival is scheduled for June 1 and 2 at the Grand Pacific Hotel.

Damodar Group chief executive officer Div Damodar said: “We are very privilege to partner with a major event in the fashion industry and a principal event the Fijian Fashion Festival.

“Faraz Ali is a creative person that Fiji has with his talent and management skills, he has taken has taken the fashion festival to another level.

“We look forward to supporting the Fijian Fashion Festival and also give chance to the youth to be part of modelling and also designers who want to expand their brands to the international industry itself.

“Fiji has significantly grown in the fashion industry; it has given creative ideas to the youth.”

Fashion Council of Fiji Faraz Ali: “We just very excited to partnering with Damodar Cinemas because they have a strong history and heritage in Fiji in the entertainment in Fiji.

“Our event as a council is very much about honoring our history and heritage respecting very strong on brands

“The Fijian Fashion Festival is all about business.

“We are very happy that large businesses such as Damodar Cinemas have come on board.  We hope to continue this partnership well into the future.”

Damodar Cinemas is offering $30,000 of sponsorship which includes advertising on led screen outside Damodar City digital boards, inside cinemas venue to hold a fashion show at village 6 foyer, official ticket sellers of the Fijian Fashion Festival to name a few.


Fashion ATMs

Meanwhile, the Fashion Council of Fiji has partnered with ANZ to deliver the Fashion ATMs.

The Fashion Council recognises this initiative as being of great value to selected designers as it offers marketing value that would otherwise not be achievable by an SME.

This is big business promotion delivered to members of the fashion business community.

Mr Ali said: “We are thrilled to have partnered with ANZ once again to deliver the Fashion ATMs.

“The ATMs also bring fashion, in particular textile design, straight to the consumer. It puts our industry at the forefront of people’s minds which ultimately results in a positive outcome for the industry as a whole.

“We are also happy that we have once again partnered with the ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards, which is an opportunity for two of our most dynamic industries to cross over and explore possible partnerships.

“The Council is grateful to ANZ for its continuous support of our efforts and we look forward to making an exciting announcement about a partnership between the bank and the Fijian Fashion Festival in the coming weeks.

“All designers who are featured for the Fashion ATM project are also showing their new season collections exclusively at the Fijian Fashion Festival. These designers include Pacific Island Art, Hupfeld Hoerder, Su Samuels, and Zelda Thomas.”

PIA managing director Tehau Guyot said the print that used at the ANZ main branch ATM machines is called a Nukuhiva.

“Nukuhiva in Tahiti it’s a name of a well-known warrior and this print really represent fearlessness and courage.

“I mean the colour that we use for this one is purple, because ANZ uses beautiful and the colours need to stand out from the blue so purple and pink.”
