Shipping services to outer islands are still on hold.
This follows forecasts by the Fiji Meteorological Services of strong wind warnings across the group.
South Island Shipping director Ulaiasi Buivatu said the MV Liahona trip which was scheduled to leave for
Lau is still on hold.
The inter-island boat sails to Ono-i- Lau and Kadavu.
“The trips to Lau are still on hold and I cannot confirm the date we will restart operation,”
Mr Buivatu said.

“Weather updates from Meteorological Office in Nadi today are still unfavourable.
“Passengers will receive updates from us after we have received confirmations that we can
start sailing to outer islands.

Patterson Shipping Service general manager David Patterson echoed the similar sentiment.
“Trips from Labasa-Suva- Labasa were cancelled for yesterday and tomorrow,” Mr Patterson
said.
“We will reschedule trips on Friday,” he said.
Meanwhile, Goundar Shipping Limited managing director George Goundar said they have
started with their operation.
