The Fiji National Rugby League (FNRL) chief executive officer Timoci Naleba said allegations made by former chairman Reverend Dr Immanuel Reuben to the Australian media about the organisation is really sad.

“It shows his lack of knowledge on how an organisation works,” Naleba said.

“Also it shows that he (Rev Reuben) does not know what actually happened at the Rugby League World Cup (RLWC). Such comments show a lack of maturity on his part”

In an interview with ABC News, Rev Reuben called on Naleba and FNRL chairman Filimoni Vosarogo to pay the players’ and tender their resignation.

The players led by captain Kevin Naiqama had voiced their unhappiness about the delay in the RLWC payments, which FNRL had indicated that it has nothing to do with them but for the players to go to NRL.

Rev Reuben’s comments came after former Australian Kangaroos and Vodafone Fijian Bati captain Petero Civoniceva had also stated in the Australian media that this would be a good time for some new blood at the FNRL headquarters in Suva.

Civoniceva is currently leading Fiji’s bid to participate in next year’s NSW Cup competition in Australia.
