Tonga A senior players will lead from the front as the 2018 Pacific Rugby Challenge starts at the ANZ Stadium tomorrow.

Tonga A will take on Junior Japan in their first game at 2:30pm.

The senior players led by captain Sione Lolohea  will start at hooker and laced with prop Makasini Lutua, Duane Aholelei and John Ika are few of the key players which will mend the Tongans forwards.

Tonga A head coach Isi Fatani focuse on mental preparation for his young side who just got together last week.

Speaking to SUNsports yesterday Fatani said the players had been disturbed following the devastation caused of tropical cyclone Gita and the team management have a huge task of getting these young players focussed for the game.

“We just got together last week most of these players and families  were affected by the cyclone but that will not be an excuse as we work hard to provide a good challenge in this Pacific Rugby challenge,” Fatani said.

The Tongans have only brought in one New Zealand based player, 20 year old Otto Faiva who is likely to start in the hooker position in their first game against Junior Japan .

“Junior Japan always give a fast pace game and Fiji will be a very experience team even though it was a short time preparation we will give our best,” he said.
