Crime Rate Drops In Serua

The crime rate in the province of Serua has dropped.

This was confirmed by the Southern Division Manager Committee Development (SDMCD) Superintendent of Police (SP) Iliesa Bolabiu at the Serua Provincial Council meeting at Namaqumaqua village yesterday.

He said the only red zone now was the Pacific Harbour area.

“We’re keeping a tight watch on this area,” he said.

SP Bolabiu said the Duavata Community Policing initiative was very effective in the province.

“We have visited all villages and we thank them for their support,” he said.

When asked about marijuana cultivation in the province he said they had received no report about it.

He said some village headmen (Turaga-ni Koro) and villagers were frightened to report marijuana cultivation in the province.

SP Bolabiu warned that the Operation Cavucavuraki was still ongoing.

He urged the Turaga-ni Koro and villagers to report any suspected drug activity in the villages to the Police.
