Roshmita Roshika Prasad of Naduna Youth Club never dreamt that she would be named the Youth of the Year Female during the Youth Award Night at Labasa Special School on Saturday night.

Ms Prasad said the award had boosted her confidence on youths movement of Fiji.

The 23-year-old, who is originally from Dagau in Seaqaqa, dedicated her achievement to her dad.

“My dad has been pushing us to participate in youth programmes and activities. Today it has paid off. If it wasn’t for my father I would not have been receiving this award,” Ms Prasad said.

“Receiving this award has motivated me to do more. This is just the beginning and I plan to do more and motivate youths to be part of something that they will be proud of.”

Ms Prasad is a Fiji National University student pursuing a Degree in Accounting and Management.

“Despite my busy schedule I take time out to be part of something that has changed my life since joining Naduna Youth Group for the past one and a half years,” she said.

“Being part of the youth group has changed the way I see things and I will make sure that I will continue to play my role as a youth in Fiji.”
