Fijian Warriors captain Mosese Voka is confident that their young players will rise to the occasion in today’s World Rugby Pacific Challenge decider against Junior Japan.

Speaking to SUNsports yesterday, the Fiji Airways Flying Fijians loosie said they are expecting a torrid encounter.

Voka said the players are confident as they target to win their second win.

“But at the moment our main aim is to execute our game plan well,” he said.

“Today we worked on polishing up a few areas that needed to be improved on. And preparations have been going well especially when we have a very young team.

“I believe the players will gain experience from these games. And most of the have really adapted after our last game against Samoa A.”

Voka indicated that discipline and ball retention are two important components that they need to be mindful of.

“We’ve been working on it and so far everything is fine.”

Voko declined to comment when asked about his plans in trying to make the Flying Fijians squad to next year’s Rugby World Cup in Japan.

“For me personally I will be able to gain more experience by playing these games. I know this will help build-up my rugby career especially playing other countries.”

Warriors coach Senirusi Seruvakula said they made a review of their last game and players have been urged to stick to the game pattern.

“It’s going to be a hard game against Junior Japan and it’s going to be like a final tomorrow. They are very unpredictable and they have a lot of speedsters so it will be an interesting game,” he added.

The match kicks-off at 5pm

Samoa A captain, Henry Stowers said they are ready to take on whatever the Tongans will throw at them in today’s World Rugby Pacific Challenge clash.

Speaking to SUNsports yesterday Stowers said preparations have been awesome and they are confident of registering their first win.

“We have recovered from the loss against Fiji and now we are looking ahead to another physical clash,” he said.

Stowers said they had been working hard on their fitness and perfecting their set pieces.

“If we stick to our game plans and fundamentals than everything will be alright.

“Tonga against Japan started well and they scored a few brilliant tries from the offloads so that is why we are working on our set pieces to counter them.”

Stowers said they have new players in the team but have been reminded to keep their nation in mind while playing.

The clash kicks-off at 2.30pm.
