A female accused person charged with the murder of Rusiate Vakalakovi outside the Total Service Station car park in Suva last year was warned on Monday that her bail would be revoked.

Melaci Tikomairarotoga, 25, appeared before Suva High Court Judge Justice Thushara Rajasinghe with co-accused Noa Ravutanasau, 35.

The duo allegedly assaulted the 30-year-old deceased outside the service station after a night out of drinking which resulted in his death.

The alleged incident happened on November 30, 2017 at around 6:15am.

Both accused persons were represented by Legal Aid lawyers.

When the case was called yesterday Tikomairarotoga who is the second accused had to be called from the Court corridor to attend her case.

Justice Rajasinghe warned her that she was given bail to appear in Court and not to be in the corridors.

Tikomairarotoga apologised to the Court and said she was sorry.

State lawyer Bhavna Kantharia who was appearing for the Prosecution said they did not have time to meet with the defence lawyers to go over the proposed agreed facts.

She said both the lawyers had been engaged in other trials.

However, Justice Rajasinghe told Ms Kantharia that engagement in another trial could not be accepted as an excuse because it was normal for lawyers to go to trial.

He said if parties waited for trials to finish before finalising matters then they would not be able to settle any issues.

Ms Kantharia informed Justice Rajasinghe that both the lawyers had agreed to meet on March 20, 2018.

Justice Rajasinghe questioned Ms Kantharia if she was trying to mislead the Court since the case was last called on February 16, 2018, to which she said no.

The case was adjourned to March 19, 2018 for agreed facts to be finalised.

Both the accused persons are on bail.

They both pleaded not guilty to the alleged murder.
