Delaibatiki Invited To Utah As Guest Of Brigham Young University

Fiji Sun’s managing editor Training Nemani Delaibatiki has been invited as a guest of the International Media Studies Department, School of Comunications, Brigham Young University Provo, Utah, United States.
The university invites international media personalities as its guests, and to address its journalism students.
Steven R. Thomsen, Ph.D, Director of International Media Studies, had extended the invitation when he was in the country with his wife towards the end of last year.
Mr Thomsen conducted an investigative reporting workshop for Fiji Sun journalists. Mr Thomsen and his wife have just completed a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, based at Papeete, Tahiti, in the area of public affairs.
Mr Thomsen has resumed his university role. The church funds the university.
Mr Delaibatiki leaves on March 25. He will meet students and members of the teaching faculty and is expected to address them on journalism in Fiji and the region.
He will then attend the church’s General Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah, where the church is headquartered. He will have the opportunity to meet the church’s world leaders and listen to them during the Easter Weekend conference.
Mr Delaibaitiki said he was delighted with the trip and thanked the university, particularly Mr Thomsen for inviting him.
