People gathered in large numbers to watch the performance and hear songs from well known singers from Chhattisgarh in India at Seaqaqa Sanatan Centre on Saturday Night.

The popular singers from India entertained the crowd throughout the night with their original songs.

Chattisgarh is a state in the centre-east of India, better known for its temples and waterfalls.

Shree Sanatan Dharam Sabha Seaqaqa president Lakhan Kumar said it was the first time singers from India had come to Seaqaqa.

“I am glad that such a high profile group has come to Seaqaqa to perform. I hope this is the first of many,” Mr Kumar said.

“I am thankful that the Indian High Commission was able to get Anuj Sharma and his group to perform here tonight. I hope everyone enjoyed their performance.”

Alumita Yavala from Seaqaqa said she was glad that she came to see the group.

“I was invited by my neighbour and wasn’t sure if I should come. At the last minute I agreed to come and I’m glad that I came. The group is really good. The way they sing is so melodious,” Ms Yavala said.

“This is the first time I came to an event like this. I am glad I understand Hindi and I am glad I did. I hope more events like this is organised here in Seaqaqa.”

About 300 people were at the Seaqaqa Sanatan Centre
