Five flower arrangements were prepared to honour loved ones .

The celebration of Palm Sunday was a little different for members of the Peceliema Methodist Church at Namaka in Valebasoga, Labasa.

Five children held flowers to remember the parents and children who have died.

Sunday school teacher Waisea Seinibiaukula said they had lost loved ones but they were remembered yesterday.

“Some parents of the children left us last year and this year, and some children. And today, we remember them all,” Mr Seinibiaukula said.

“It is not easy especially for the children who lost their parents because today parents of the other children prepared them for Palm Sunday.”

Mr Seinibiaukula said it was a special day for the children because they took charge of the sermon.

“The theme for this Palm Sunday is ‘Evangelising through youths into the world’, which is the same throughout the Methodist church in Fiji,” he said.

“The sermon of the children today will be based on the life of Thomas Baker when he was in Fiji teaching the word of God till his death.”

Close to 50 children took part for Palm Sunday.
