Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama yesterday handed over a lease title to the Ratu Kadavulevu School Old Scholars Association for its Golden Heron Project.

The lease title was received on behalf of the association president by the former president Sakeasi Seru.

The lease is for 99 years. Making the presentation to the Prime Minister on the planned development on the site, the Lodoni Investment Trust chairman Sikeli Tuituku said they were planning to build a $50 to $75 million building on the site at Herbert Place, Naivakananumi, Knollys Street, Suva.

“It’ll be an eight storey building and a car park,” he said.

“Old boys can also buy shares. Gone are the days when the old boys would be asked to give $10 or more for any fundraising.

“For this project we need to give thousands of dollars.”

Association member Jese Morgan thanked Mr Bainimarama for the help he had been giving to the school and also to the Golden Heron project.

Mr Bainimarama said the Golden Heron Project would require the unity of the old scholars to raise funds.

He urged all RKS old scholars to be united in making sure the project was successful because it would benefit current and former students.
