Students and teachers of the Assemblies of God primary and high school reflected on the message of Easter on Thursday at Calvary Temple in Samabula, Suva.

They shared their thoughts on Easter and what it meant for them AOG High School Year 13 student Amelia Takape said Jesus did not just die because of the nails, but because of our sin “your unrighteousness and my wrongdoings”.

“When we talk about Easter we simply say it is about Jesus dying on the cross at Mount Calvary, but little do we know the pain that he had to go through because of us.”

AOG High School headgirl Salaseini Kala said Easter was a time to remember that Jesus Christ died for all and he took our sins with him.

“Nothing is impossible when we put God first before everything else,” Salaseini said.

Assemblies of God High School vice-principal Tarisi Tawake said it was a Holy week leading up the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

“A time to share the word of God. On Friday (today) at 6am along with all my family members we will attend church services and start our day by sharing the word of God,” Ms Tawake said.

“Easter is when the Lord Jesus Christ was given by his father, our God, to die on the cross for our sins. He was crucified, died and was buried, then after three days he rose again.

“It has lot of meaning because our belief and faith tells us that he defeated death, evil and this brought victory to all Christians.”
