A concert in support of victims of Tropical Cyclone Gita in Tonga and Samoa will be hosted by the Roman Catholic Church of Fiji tomorrow.

The head of the Roman Catholic Church in Fiji, Archbishop Peter Loy Chong, said the church in Fiji united with other Catholics and Christian denominations and parishes to fundraise for the two affected countries.

Archbishop Loy Chong said the TC Gita music and dance relief concert was a good way to celebrate Easter by sharing their blessings and remembering their brothers and sisters in Tonga and Samoa who were affected.

“We have a wide variety of entertainment from the Tongan community, our different parishes, the Indian Cultural Dance Troupe of the Indian High Commission, choirs, vude groups, Bilo Levu Boys and a special performance from the SDA Youth,” he said.

Archbishop Loy Chong said Catholic parishes and families have shown a lot of interest in the free concert.

He said during the concert they would collect donations for the TC Gita victims.

The Gita music and dance relief concert is organised by the Archdiocese Youth Commission.

The Festival will be held at Marist Brothers High School’s Lambert Hall in Suva from 3pm to 6pm.
