Striker Roneel Singh scored a double as Ta­vua beat Nasinu 2-0 in the 2018 Vodafone Sikh IDC at the Korovuto College ground in Nadi yesterday.

Singh scored both goals in the second spell. The inclusion of Suva defender Ravinesh Karan Singh, Sanjeet Singh, Rakiraki reps Shavneel Singh and Avneet Singh, former Tavua College rep Shivneel Kumar made the difference.

Nasinu had the services of Jalinder Singh.

“We are happy to win by a good margin and we are looking forward to win the tournament. We are confident yet we know the tough challenge out there,” Tavua team manager Yogesh Nadan said,

Ba with the services of former Ba rep Shelvin Singh drew 1-1 with Nakasi.

The host team include former Nadi rep Man­dip Singh, veteran Rajvinder Singh, and captain Gurdeep Singh.

Vodafone Fiji head of recharge & distribution Nilesh Singh officiated at the opening of the two- day event.

“I thank the organisers for doing a great job as it is very important for our community to be in­volved in sports,” he said.

The organisers thanked Vodafone for the sup­port.

Results: Nasinu 0-2 Tavua, Ba 1- 1 Nakasi, Nadi 0 – 1Nasinu.
